Moddershall Oaks Autumn weddings

Moddershall Oaks was the chosen setting for Laura and James Autumn wedding reception.
Laura and James wedding day started at Laura’s parents house where we covered the bridal preparations. I was joined in the morning by Helen Pearson make-up artist. I keep the preparations very low-key in order to keep it nice and relaxed. My assistant Claire took over and finished off the bridal preparations, giving me enough time to head over to the church to meet the groom his best man.
The groom, best man and ushers all arrived in plenty of time for me to get a couple of photographs of them, at this point I usually take a couple of portraits and then leave the guys to meet and greet the guests and I document the rest naturally.
The wedding service took place at St John the Baptist Church in a lovely village of Stowe by Chartley. The service lasted roughly an hour, after the service we headed off to Moddershall Oaks for the wedding reception.

Once we arrived at Moddershall Oaks I photographed Laura & James with the wedding cars, then I left the couple for a while leaving them plenty of time to mingle with their wedding guests, relax and have a couple of drinks.
Laura & James had requested a few family group photos so these were done quickly and efficiently before moving on to take a couple for a nice relaxing walk around the grounds, capturing some lovely portraits along the way.
I have photographed a large number of weddings at Moddershall oaks over the years and each time I feel there is always something new to be seen. The woodland walk in the autumn is simply stunning, the golden warm colours on the trees make a beautiful backdrop.
This again was all day coverage wedding, from bridal preparations right the way through to the evening and dancing. We finished off with a lovely evening shot on the terrace.
It’s always a pleasure to work Moddershall Oaks and I’m very fortunate to be one of the recommended photographers, it’s always a relaxed, super chilled, super fun venue to work at, and you are guaranteed a perfect setting for your wedding. Delbury Hall Wedding
This was my first visit to Delbury Hall wedding venue, in Diddlebury, near Ludlow, and this has to be one of Shropshires most beautiful venues with stunning views over landscaped gardens, and a large lake.
Ian and Samantha had chosen the coach house for their ceremony, this has a mezzanine floor and the wedding took place upstairs above the Banqueting Hall. The banqueting hall looks out onto a large terraced area and during the summer the glass doors can slide open to allow easy access to this area.
across the courtyard from the coach house is the accommodation and stables. The coach house is light and airy, and a great place for the bridal preparations. I found Delbury hall had an abundance of photographic opportunities from the coach house, coach yard, the garden Pagoda and amazing grounds that simply make the most perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs.

For this wedding I was asked to cover the bridal preparations right through until the dancing in the evening, This is pretty standard these days with most couples wanting to record the full day.
Prior to any wedding, it’s important that I set up a meeting with the couples that I’m working for, we go over the timings of the day and any particular group photos they may like. It’s important to keep the number of groups down to a minimum as this can impact on your day, remember its’ your day and you should enjoy it. The more group photos you choose the longer it takes so it’s important to choose them wisely.
With wedding photography, I will always try and give you a bit of everything, from documenting the fun and laughter of you and your guests having a great time, the odd tear and emoting of the day, through to some super cool portraits you would be proud of.

Pimhill Barn Wedding
It was great to be booked by Amy & Dave to photograph their wedding at Pimhill Barn wedding venue in Shropshire. I have photographed at Pimhill barn a few times now and I always seem to get really fun couples with crazy guests that just love having a laugh, plus I always seem to bring the sunshine ( this is not in my contract though ) 🙂

So my day started with the bridal preparations in the bridal suite at Pimhill, it was all nice a very relaxed. One of Amy’s friends paid a surprise visit during the preps, as the night before she had just given birth to her beautiful baby, when Amy spotted her friend it was a very emotional moment, but a happy one.
After this I headed over to meet David and his groomsmen to grab a couple of photo’s, I kind of get a couple of structured images and then just document the rest, it’s nice to capture people just doing what they do.
Relaxed natural wedding photography
My photography is very much natural and relaxed and along the way we grab a few nice portraits and any requested groups, the main thing for me is the couples are enjoying the day and spending time with guests and not 3-4 hours with me.
I usually start by photographing any groups the couple has requested as that way the guests can all relax knowing they won’t be needed again for any formal photos.
Pimhill barn gardens
After the wedding ceremony, we headed into the gardens of the house for a few portraits of Amy & David, this area I believe is reserved just for the bridal party. The view from the gardens over the Shropshire countryside is beautiful.

Once we headed inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches, it was time to turn the room around and the band to set up for the evening entertainment. Like I said every time I go to this venue I seem to have a large group of serious party animals 🙂 I love to see people just having a great time and enjoying themselves and the images hopefully have captured this.

Weddings at Aston Marina
Leanne & Todd
What a pleasure it was to photograph Leanne and Todd’s wedding at The boat house Aston marina.
The day started a little different than usual as we were asked to cover both the bridal and the groom preps, this is something we can offer couples if needed as I work with an assistant on all day wedding packages.
The marriage service took place at St James church near Sandon hall, a lovely church up on the hill overlooking the Staffordshire countryside.
After the service, the newly married couple headed the short drive to Aston marina in Stone.
Leanne & Todd had provided some lovely vintage fairground attractions for their guests to enjoy in the afternoon sunshine. Whilst the guest were enjoying some canapés and drinks, we spent a bit of time with the couple taking some portraits around the boathouse.
It was such a relaxed fun day with fantastic weather, a great couple and some amazing guests.

Moat House weddings | Taz & James
It was great to be back at The Moat house in Acton Trussell for Taz and James wedding.
The Moat House is a venue I have been lucky enough to work at over many years and privileged to be one of the recommended photographers. It has to be on your list of wedding venues to look at when planning your big day.
The Moat house is a beautiful venue in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside. The grounds are always perfectly kept all year round and make for a stunning backdrop for your wedding photos.
My work can take me all over the country but it’s always nice to be close to home every now and again 🙂
