Foxtail Barns is a purpose-built barn wedding venue near Consall in Staffordshire, combining countryside surroundings with a clean, modern design. Part of the Best Day Ever group (alongside venues such as Pendrell Hall and The Ashes Barns), it consistently delivers an exceptional wedding experience.
Everything is designed with weddings in mind, which makes it ideal for natural, documentary-style photography.

As a Staffordshire-based wedding photographer, I know Foxtail Barns well and understand how to make the most of its light, spaces, and atmosphere.
My approach is relaxed and documentary-led. I focus on capturing real moments as they happen — laughter, emotion, anticipation, and everything in between — without interrupting the flow of your day.
During the day I’ll use:

- The gardens and grounds for relaxed couple portraits
- The barn space for candid, energetic evening photography

Real Weddings at Alrewas Hayes – Alice & Jack
One of my favourite recent weddings at Alrewas Hayes was that of Alice & Jack – a truly lovely couple who made the day feel as warm and welcoming as the venue itself. Alice is honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the privilege to meet, and capturing her and Jack’s big day was a real honour.
There was also a deeply touching tribute to her late mum – Alice chose to wear her mum’s wedding shoes, a beautiful gesture that made it feel like her mum was walking every step with her. It was emotional, heartfelt, and reminded me why I love what I do – telling meaningful stories through images.
The grounds were bursting with colour that day – the wisteria in full bloom and the gardens alive with summer light. Alice and Jack’s relaxed, fun-loving energy made it easy to capture natural moments, full of joy and connection.

A Magical Day at Pendrell Hall – Laura & Lee’s Wedding
On the last day of May, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Laura and Lee’s gorgeous wedding at the ever-popular Pendrell Hall in Staffordshire. It’s a venue I always love returning to — the elegant interiors and stunning grounds offer the perfect setting for a relaxed, fun filled wedding day.
Pendrell Hall indoor ceremony
Laura and Lee chose an indoor ceremony in Pendrell’s beautiful ceremony space, and it was filled with love, laughter, and a bit of magic — quite literally! Their master of ceremonies, Christian Fletcher, did a brilliant job leading the day and keeping guests entertained with close-up magic throughout the drinks reception. It really added something special to the atmosphere.
Hair and makeup were in the very talented hands of Kelly Hoult, who made sure Laura and the bridal party looked absolutely flawless from morning prep to first dance. The groomsmen looked sharp in suits provided by Suits You Sir in Stafford, perfectly complementing the elegant style of the day.
One of the most unique touches was the wedding cake — created by the fabulous Amy Bakers Cakes — which was cut straight after the ceremony. It’s the first time I’ve seen it done this way and honestly, it’s a brilliant idea. It meant all the daytime guests got to enjoy a slice while the celebrations were still unfolding.
The evening party kicked off in style thanks to a cracking live performance from a superb country rock band, who had the dance floor bouncing well into the night.
As with many modern couples, Laura and Lee weren’t looking for hours of posed photography, and that’s totally fine by me. Over the years, I’ve refined my wedding photography style to give my couples a balanced collection: a few cool hero shots, the essential family groups, and plenty of authentic, real moments in between. That way, couples get a genuine feel of their day with natural, relaxed storytelling.
