As a Staffordshire wedding photographer, I always get excited photographing weddings at Aston Marina — and Will and Torz’s wedding was no exception. This beautiful waterside venue in Stone offers the perfect setting for relaxed, light-filled, stylish celebrations. As an Aston Marina wedding photographer, I was thrilled when Will and Torz asked me to capture their day. This beautiful venue in Stone is always a joy to work at, and their wedding was full of love, laughter, and sunshine.
Why I Love Being an Aston Marina Wedding Photographer – A Hidden Gem in Staffordshire
This year, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing several weddings at Aston Marina, and it’s fast becoming one of my favourite venues. With large windows allowing in plenty of natural light, it’s a dream for wedding photography — especially for indoor ceremonies or rainy days. The spacious decked area at the rear, complete with comfy outdoor seating, makes for a relaxed drinks reception with views over the marina.
The terraced gardens are close to the main building, meaning couples are never far from their guests or the bar — ideal for a sociable, stress-free day.
Bridal Preparations and Arrival
Torz got ready at home, so we began the day there with some relaxed bridal prep photos. It’s always lovely to capture the behind-the-scenes moments — the laughter, the details, and the calm before the excitement.
I then met Will and his groomsmen at Aston Marina, about an hour before the ceremony. This is a great time for a few relaxed portraits and candid moments before the guests arrive. Soon after, Torz arrived looking absolutely stunning and made her way into the ceremony room.
These are the kind of moments I love to capture as an Aston Marina wedding photographer — full of emotion and meaning.
The Ceremony and Reception
After a lovely ceremony, the newlyweds were greeted with confetti and cheers before heading out onto the deck for drinks, canapés, and family photos. We also took some time for portraits of the couple in the gardens and marina area — Aston Marina has so many beautiful backdrops, from the water to the woodlands.The ceremony was full of happy tears, and the marina backdrop made my job as an Aston Marina wedding photographer even more enjoyable.
The guests were then invited back inside for speeches and the wedding breakfast, with fantastic food and lots of laughter. Later, the evening party kicked off with brilliant entertainment from James Barlow, who had everyone on the dancefloor.
Final Thoughts
Will and Torz’s wedding was a joy to capture from start to finish. Relaxed, full of love, and set against the backdrop of one of Staffordshire’s best wedding venues, it had everything you’d want from a perfect wedding day.

Weddings at Aston Marina
Leanne & Todd
What a pleasure it was to photograph Leanne and Todd’s wedding at The boat house Aston marina.
The day started a little different than usual as we were asked to cover both the bridal and the groom preps, this is something we can offer couples if needed as I work with an assistant on all day wedding packages.
The marriage service took place at St James church near Sandon hall, a lovely church up on the hill overlooking the Staffordshire countryside.
After the service, the newly married couple headed the short drive to Aston marina in Stone.
Leanne & Todd had provided some lovely vintage fairground attractions for their guests to enjoy in the afternoon sunshine. Whilst the guest were enjoying some canapés and drinks, we spent a bit of time with the couple taking some portraits around the boathouse.
It was such a relaxed fun day with fantastic weather, a great couple and some amazing guests.
