The morning preparations were filled with excitement as Molly and her bridal party got ready in the venue’s beautiful preparation suites. There was such a calm but excited energy throughout the morning as everyone prepared for the day ahead.
Their ceremony was incredibly emotional, with family and friends gathered to witness such a special moment.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and celebrations while we made full use of the spectacular grounds for portraits.

Vicky & Clive had a beautiful and intimate wedding at Moddershall Oaks, one of Staffordshire’s premier wedding venues, known for its picturesque lakeside setting and tranquil gardens. Their wedding was relaxed, personal, and filled with meaningful moments, all set against the stunning backdrop of the lakeside at Moddershall Oaks.
The Morning at Moddershall Oaks
I began the day in the snug at Moddershall Oaks, a spacious and light-filled room perfect for brides and bridesmaids to get ready. The cozy atmosphere made it an ideal setting to start the day, with plenty of space for hair and makeup preparations. As the bride and her bridal party got ready, I captured some of the beautiful moments of anticipation and excitement.
Lakeside Ceremony at Moddershall Oaks
The ceremony took place outdoors, overlooking the serene lake and gardens at Moddershall Oaks. This stunning lakeside location is a favorite for couples seeking a romantic and intimate setting for their vows. The ceremony was short and sweet, lasting around 20 minutes, allowing the couple and their guests to enjoy the stunning scenery and bask in the warm summer sun.
After the ceremony, everyone celebrated with a glass of fizz, mingling and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
The Gardens and Portraits
After some time to relax and chat with their guests, I spent a few moments with Vicky and Clive for a set of beautiful couple portraits. The gardens at Moddershall Oaks provide an idyllic setting for capturing intimate and creative wedding photos. The lush greenery and tranquil lake provided the perfect backdrop for some stunning and timeless portraits.
I always encourage my couples to take a few minutes alone after their ceremony to absorb the moment before diving into group photos. It’s essential to plan group shots in advance to ensure they run smoothly. Once those were complete, we ventured around the lake for some relaxed, natural portraits.

Moddershall Oaks Autumn weddings
Laura & James
Moddershall Oaks was the chosen setting for Laura and James Autumn wedding reception.
Laura and James wedding day started at Laura’s parents house where we covered the bridal preparations. I was joined in the morning by Helen Pearson make-up artist. I keep the preparations very low-key in order to keep it nice and relaxed. My assistant Claire took over and finished off the bridal preparations, giving me enough time to head over to the church to meet the groom his best man.
The groom, best man and ushers all arrived in plenty of time for me to get a couple of photographs of them, at this point I usually take a couple of portraits and then leave the guys to meet and greet the guests and I document the rest naturally.
The wedding service took place at St John the Baptist Church in a lovely village of Stowe by Chartley. The service lasted roughly an hour, after the service we headed off to Moddershall Oaks for the wedding reception.

Once we arrived at Moddershall Oaks I photographed Laura & James with the wedding cars, then I left the couple for a while leaving them plenty of time to mingle with their wedding guests, relax and have a couple of drinks.
Laura & James had requested a few family group photos so these were done quickly and efficiently before moving on to take a couple for a nice relaxing walk around the grounds, capturing some lovely portraits along the way.
I have photographed a large number of weddings at Moddershall oaks over the years and each time I feel there is always something new to be seen. The woodland walk in the autumn is simply stunning, the golden warm colours on the trees make a beautiful backdrop.
This again was all day coverage wedding, from bridal preparations right the way through to the evening and dancing. We finished off with a lovely evening shot on the terrace.
It’s always a pleasure to work Moddershall Oaks and I’m very fortunate to be one of the recommended photographers, it’s always a relaxed, super chilled, super fun venue to work at, and you are guaranteed a perfect setting for your wedding. Moddershall Oaks Wedding
Moddershall Oaks was the setting for Holly and Daniels summer wedding. They were blessed with great weather so the outdoor ceremony was a must.
Moddershall oaks is situated in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside with stunning views and the outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake makes it a perfect backdrop for your wedding.
After Holly and Daniel had completed their civil ceremony they headed back inside to get changed for their Chinese tea ceremony. This was so colourful and I loved the outfits the couple were wearing, so after the ceremony we grabbed a few minutes for some portraits.
Later they changed back into the traditional wedding attire and joined the guests for drinks and canapés.
This was a really relaxed wedding with only a few formal group photos requested, so it didn’t take long to get these done leaving the couple to enjoy their day.
