The Moat House Acton Trussell

The Moat House Weddings

Bianca and Ian had a beautiful civil ceremony at the moat house hotel Acton trussell. Bianca and Ian are a great couple who I warmed to from the first meeting we had together and I was so glad when they chose me to shoot their wedding day.
The day started in the bridal suit at the Moat House with a very relaxed bride, in fact I don’t think I have ever been to a room that was so calm.
Ian arrived in style in his best mans ferrari and after I had taken a few pictures it was back to the brides room to get Bianca with her mum before the ceremony.
Ian’s expression just prior to Bianca entering the room is priceless :O)
Bianca and Ian were great on the day giving me all the time I needed for the photographs, an absolute pleasure to work for.
Below are a  selection of images from the day… thanks for looking !

Consall Hall Gardens Weddings

Consall Hall Gardens Staffordshire

Natalie & Glen were married at the picturesque setting of consall Hall Gardens in August. We had previously visited the gardens a couple months prior to the wedding for their pre wedding shoot,

I usually do the pre shoots in Stafford but as I had not visitedConsall Hall gardens before we thought it would be a great idea to do the shoot there.

We picked out a couple of their favourite locations at the gardens on the pre shoot to use on the wedding day and had a chauffeur driven golf  buggy to get around the ground.

The weather was a little hit and miss on the day and Glen had the big decision of whether or not to hold the service indoors or outdoors by the pool terrace, he opted for outdoors and thankfully the weather held for them.

A great day, amazing venue and a fab couple.

Kylie & Richard | A Moat House Wedding

The Moat House with Kylie & Rich

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Kylie and Richards wedding.
The day started at the bride’s home for those all important details, “anyone following my blog may recognise the hair stylist”, If not click here.
Kylie and Richard had a church service at St Thomas Walton on the Hill and the reception was held at the moat house in Acton Trussell.
A few words from Kylie !
I found choosing the venue, dress and shoes really easy- I knew exactly what I wanted! We spent more time choosing a photographer than any other decision we had to make when planning our wedding. I went to quite a few wedding fayres with my Mum and bridesmaids and looked at lots of photographers’ sample albums. We chose Steve because the pictures were a mixture of natural and ‘posed’ photos, but mainly because the style was elegant and classic. It was important to me that our wedding pictures wouldn’t look outdated, one day I want to be able to show them to our Grandchildren!
On our wedding day, I found that Steve can sense if you need a break from having pictures taken. When we were having our pictures taken at The Moat House, Steve would say to us “I’m going to let you have a break now”, as it was nice to have the time to mingle with our guests, too. Lots of our guests commented on how good Steve was at making everyone feel relaxed when having their pictures taken, and making everyone laugh. He also knows when to be subtle; when I looked at our pictures for the first time I couldn’t believe how many pictures there were where I had no idea that he was taking any!
It probably sounds a bit strange to say this, but having our pictures taken at The Moat House gave us some of the few moments where we had time together as a couple, because you spend so much time on the day trying to find time to speak to all of your guests! It was nice sometimes to be able to walk away from that just to be able to have a walk around and enjoy some of your first moments as a married couple together.
When we got back from our honeymoon it was great to be able to look forward to seeing all the photos, it makes it feel as though it isn’t really over! When we looked through them together, it makes you remember all the tiny details that you sometimes didn’t pick up on the day, because there is so much going on. It’s also nice to see parts of the day that you might have missed; I loved the pictures of all our guests arriving at the church, because that was part of the day that I didn’t see. We sat at the computer for hours, saying ‘I forgot about that!’, and ‘I didn’t see that!’ It gives a different perspective to the events of the day.

Celebrity Wedding Planner { The Heath House}

Celebrity Wedding Planner

A couple of months back I had a phone call from a TV company asking me if I would be available to photograph a wedding that would appear on TV in August, all was top secret and I was only told the couples names, location of the wedding and the TV show…. celebrity wedding planner….  the wedding planners for this episode Denise Welch and Russell Grant.

When I heard the location was The Heath House I knew this would be an amazing wedding as the venue is stunning with fantastic grounds and plenty of great photographic opportunities.

Because this wedding was all top secret I didn’t get a chance to meet with Stacey or Alistair before their big day, neither did I have any idea of the type of photographs they even wanted. But I do have plenty of experience photographing at Heath House and this provided invaluable later on !!

Alistair arrived and was great from the offset giving me the time I needed to get his photographs done before Stacey arrived, I was also surprised at how many of the guest I knew from previous weddings I had photographed.

Stacey arrived shortly after the groom and looked stunning Denise had done a great job choosing the dress…

After the service I managed to get the bride and groom for about 20 minutes for the photographs we did get some great images but I wouldn’t want to work under those time constraints every week it’s simply not enough.

All in all I think the celebrity wedding planners did Stacey and Alistair proud, from the suits to the wedding dress, wedding cars to cake, they provided them with some great wedding suppliers who came together to give Stacey and Alistair a day to remember.

Thank for having me along it was great fun!
